Hospitals are paid for acute inpatient care of Medicare patients the basis of Medicare-Severity diagnosis related groups (MS-DRGs). For some DRGs, special rules have been created for patients who are discharged immediately following their hospitalization to a rehab hospital, skilled nursing facility, a long-term care hospital or home health care. This presentation will provide listeners with a greater understanding of the policy and rule to help gain greater compliance in this RAC targeted area
