Kathleen Cain
Kathleen Cain is the Interim CFO at Valley Health System, located in Hemet, California. She has previously been CFO at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno and at Eden Medical Center, which comprises three Sutter Health hospitals. Prior to that time, she served for 6 years as the regional CFO for three hospitals in Hawaii. She has extensive experience as a CFO for county and not-for-profit hospitals, as a corporate financial planner, a consultant and as a financial manager for health plans. She has played as active role in both the Northern California and Hawaii chapters of HFMA including serving as a Board Member or Officer in each. She is currently the President-Elect of the Northern California Chapter. In addition, she serves on the Stewardship Committee of the California Division of the American Cancer Society. She holds a B.A. in English from Indiana University and an M.H.A. from The Ohio State University and has a certificate from the HFMA Executive Program. She and her husband, Ed Carrithers, have six grown children and fifteen grandchildren.
